Television History :)
The beginning of the pairs history really started on the CBBC childrens programme Byker Grove.
In 1988 when Byker Grove first began, Dec was first seen on screen playing the role of Duncan, admittedly not one of the more highlighted roles at the time.
Dec's time to shine came shortly after the arrival of Ant to the show.
Taking up the Role of PJ the pair were cast as best friends on the show although they didnt get along so well off set, Dec explaining he thought Ant was moody and just sat in the corner sulking!
However when Ant's character gets blinded by paintballs, he becomes very dependent on Duncan, reflecting into real life.
The Story turned Byker Grove into Must see Television and the phrase 'Duncan, man, im blind!' and 'PJ, whats it like to be blind?' became recurring phrases.
After Ant and Dec left Byker Grove they began looking into the music business, releasing several albums (under their character names PJ and Duncan) had hit songs including 'Let's Get ready to rhumble', 'Our Radio Rocks' and 'Eternal Love?'
However the Boys realised that music was not their calling and after releasing 3 albums in total they decided to pursue other careers in entertainment....
